Four new species of Ceratocephale are described from northern and northwestern Australia. The range of a fifth northern Australian species, Ceratocephale aureola Hutchings & Reid 1990, is greatly expanded. An informal description is provided of an additional species of Ceratocephale; this species remains undescribed due to a lack of adequate material. Previous records of Ceratocephale pacifica in the southern Pacific Ocean, off the east coast of Australia, are confirmed. An emended generic diagnosis is provided for Ceratocephale, along with a key distinguishing all species of Ceratocephale known from Australia. There are now xx recognised species of Ceratocephale world-wide, yy of which occur in Australian waters.
