Our Plan
Our plan for a decade of discovery
Discovering Biodiversity: A decadal plan for taxonomy and biosystematics in Australia and New Zealand 2018–2027 is an ambitious plan developed by the taxonomy and biosystematics community and its key stakeholders in Australia and New Zealand.
It sets out the value of taxonomy and biosystematics to science, government, industry and the community. It establishes what we know and what we don't yet know about the biodiversity of Australia and New Zealand.
And it describes a vision for the future, a vision that if achieved will substantially accelerate the discovery and documentation of the species that share our lands and oceans.
Taxonomy Australia is a key organisation for achieving the vision of the decadal plan. Your support and involvement is key to our success.
Read the plan using the links at left. The decadal plan is being underpinned by the development of a series of implementation plans, which provide roadmaps for each of the plan's strategic actions. You can read more about these here.
