Andrew Brown
Prior to retiring in 2017 I was a Conservation Biologist and Taxonomist at the Western Australian Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions where I coordinated research and recovery work on threatened flora and prepared taxonomic treatments in the Orchidaceae and Scrophulariaceae.
I am currently a Research Associate at the Western Australian Herbarium, specialising in the Orchidaceae, Colchicaceae and Scrophulariaceae.
I am the author/co-author of 150 journal publications and 12 books on Western Australian flora and have collaborated in the formal descriptions of 140 new Western Australian orchid taxa, 22 Eremophila taxa and a smattering of taxa in several other genera.
I am a life member of the Western Australian Native Orchid Study and Conservation Group, a foundation member of the Australian Orchid Foundation and a member of the Orchid Specialist Group of the IUCN.
Current interests include ongoing taxonomic research and the preparation of articles and books on the Western Australian flora.
