David is a passionate emerging coral taxonomist and ecologist. Having left a perfectly good career to pursue an undergraduate degree in Marine and Biological sciences (Murdoch University), he has recently completed Honours at Curtin University, Western Australia. During his Honours, David honed his skills in molecular and morphometric taxonomy and is about to embark on an exciting PhD project using integrated taxonomy to provide new perspectives on massive coral growth rates in rapidly changing oceans. In his spare time, David volunteers in marine conservation groups and helps run a university dive club.
