Kara Layton
I use field and museum collections along with genetic tools to investigate patterns of marine invertebrate diversity and the processes generating this diversity. My research interests are broad, incorporating themes from molecular ecology, phylogenetics, systematics, taxonomy, evolutionary biology and conservation genetics. I have a particular interest in understanding species diversity in chromodorid nudibranchs and how ecological speciation and mimicry may facilitate speciation.
