Shirley Sorokin
I have always worked with marine invertebrates, firstly at JCU and AIMS in Townsville and then at SARDI Aquatic Sciences and SA Museum in Adelaide. I have broad knowledge of marine invertebrate identification - and a special interest in sponges. I also have an interest in taxonomic work in support of marine biotechnology/drug discovery. As part of this community I am interested in getting 'working names' on specimens already on the shelves in museums and getting them to specialists for confirmation towards documentation of our Australian fauna.
