Zoe Richards
Zoe is a coral biodiversity researcher and nature lover. Her research revolves around how best to monitor and protect corals and coral reefs. Working in the areas of systematics, phylogenetics, population genetics, ecology and conservation, Zoe undertakes multidisciplinary research that has informed policy in the areas of threatened species management, World Heritage Area management, Fisheries management and sedentary species conservation. Currently, Zoe leads a coral research group within the Trace and Environmental DNA Laboratory at Curtin University and is also the Curator of Marine Invertebrates at the Western Australian Museum. She leads a research group that has undertaken novel research in the areas of biodiversity discovery, phylogenomics and environmental DNA and she is a passionate science communicator.
